Background......

My intention is to keep this blog in line with the events of that year, so from now until the outbreak is first discovered, I thought it may help the reader (if there ever are any) if I give some background information to try and put the events of that year into some sort of perspective.

I'll get the ball rolling in the next few days by telling you a little of my life and work up to the point where FMD 2001 started.

As previously stated; I have little in the way of records to work from; the events to be described will be the way I remembered them, so I'll apologise now for any inaccuracies.
